Flaxseed is used in folk medicine for atony (weakness) of the intestines with flatulence and prolonged constipation, diseases of the stomach, intestines, liver (cholecystitis, jaundice), kidney - cystitis, kidney stones, heart disease, shortness of breath, dropsy, edema cardiac and renal, diarrhea, urinary incontinence, ascariasis, initial forms of prostate hypertrophy and anemia.

Dark medunica is a perennial plant of the borage family, 15-30 cm tall, the whole plant is rough (covered with stiff hairs). The root leaves are ovate-lanceolate, dark, elongated. It has been established that mistletoe preparations from willow in experiments reduce the excitability of the central nervous system, prevent or weaken convulsions, inhibit the cardiovascular center, have a suppressive effect on the medulla oblongata center, directly dilate the vessels of the lower extremities and liver. Newer data indicate that mistletoe preparations increase heart activity and slow the rhythm of heart contractions, as well as have a suppressive effect on cell division and DNA synthesis (V. Petkov). The toxicity of fresh mistletoe is 100 times higher than dried mistletoe (quoted from P.M. Lashkarev).

Decoctions and infusions of raw materials for compresses and baths, as well as ointment used for lichens, wounds, trophic ulcers, burns, furunculosis. Decoction of bark rinse the mouth for toothache. Juice from the tree smeared lichens and warts. Steamed crushed young raw leaves in the form of pastes, as well as ointment and alcohol tincture used in diseases of the joints, muscles and sciatica. Crushed buds and young crushed leaves in a gauze bag lowered into boiling water, squeezed and applied hot to the joints, and warm - in hemorrhoids. An ointment of wood ash, as well as a resinous liquid from wood obtained by dry distillation, is used externally for eczema. However, this liquid causes severe burning, and therefore it should not be applied to large areas of the skin.

Prof. S. A. Tomilin recommended caustic purgative for hypertension. In Bulgaria, it is used for stomach ulcers, heartburn, prolapse of the rectum, as an analgesic for hemorrhoids, with irritation and severe itching in the area of the anus. Externally - infusion of herbs cleanser washed wounds and ulcers, crushed fresh herb applied to scabs on the head, calluses and cancerous tumors. Poultices of boiled in beer herb purgative applied to sore joints. Juice and ointment of fresh and dry herb on pig fat - with calluses, warts, festering wounds and ulcers, age spots, freckles, lichens, itchy dermatoses, eczema, broken bones, rashes and pus crusts on the head. Such ointment with the addition of camphor is used for swellings and joint diseases.

The white peregrine is a perennial liana from the gourd family. The stems are thin, very long (up to 4 m), tufted, with tendrils. Leaves are rough, broad, resembling the leaves of a cucumber. The flowers are yellow-green. It blooms in June-July. The fruit is a juicy, green and then black berry. The root is white, thick, weighing up to 3 kg or more, with an unpleasant odor and bitter taste. White stump - is found in the Donbass in forests, among shrubs, near fences. Its reserves are limited, the plant is subject to protection. It grows well in culture when sown in the winter.

In the home for a number of diseases used 10% tincture of flowers of fenugreek on white wine - 15 ml every 2 hours. Externally, tincture of leaves and flowers used for gargling with stomatitis, for spritzing with bleach, for washing hair, dandruff, for rubs, compresses and baths - with gout, rheumatism, arthrosis, joint pain, foot pain, leg cramps, sprains and bruises. Steamed flowers in the form of a compress applied to boils and swollen places. Juice of the plant, or 10% alcohol tincture, or powder for powdering, or 5-50% ointment - in purulent wounds and ulcers, abrasions, bee stings, scabies and other skin diseases.

In medicine are used plantaglucid and plantain juice (a mixture of equal amounts of juice of both plantains, preserved alcohol) in hypoacid gastritis, chronic colitis (with constipation), peptic ulcer without acidity (during exacerbation and to prevent relapses), chronic cholecystitis, toxicosis of pregnancy. Infusion of plantain leaves - in respiratory diseases.

Infusion of wormwood herb - for mouthwash for bad odor and toothache, compresses and lotions for eye diseases, hard to heal and bleeding wounds, ulcers, bruises and insect bites, scabies, corns. In this case, also use fresh wormwood juice or crushed leaves. Physician AI Pavlenko (Artemovsk) treated patients with psoriasis 30-50% ointment of powdered wormwood flowers. M. A. Garbarets recommends ointment of 1 part of juice and 4 parts of fat.
