Cinnamon rosehip is a prickly shrub up to 2 m high. It blooms from May through July. Fruits are globular, small, orange-red, ripening in August - September. Cinnamon rosehip is found occasionally in the floodplains of the Seversky Donets, in Starobelsky District and other places, forests, shrubs, meadows and chalk slopes. It is bred by amateur gardeners.
The fruits harvested at the time of ripening, but not soft (before the first frost), less often galls, roots and flowers of rose hips are used. Rose hips are a natural concentrate of many vitamins. Fruit pulp contains vitamins C (10-20%), Bg, P, PPi, K, carotene, tannins and pectin, citric acid, sugars, a significant amount of potassium salts, as well as iron, manganese, magnesium and phosphorus salts, seeds - fatty oil and vitamin E, carotene. The bark, roots, leaves, especially the growths on the fruit (galls), contain many tannins.
In the Donbass, more than 30 low vitamin species of rose hips grow throughout, such as dog rose (R. soba). canina L.), containing vitamins C (0.2-3 %), K, carotene, flavonoids, carotenoids, fruit acids, tannins, salts.
Cinnamon rosehip has antiscingotic, choleretic, diuretic, astringent, sedative, antimicrobial, phytoncidal, anti-inflammatory, mild styptic, laxative, antisclerotic, wound-healing effect, as well as stimulates the hematopoietic apparatus and enhances the phagocytic ability of leukocytes, improves digestion and metabolism, increases the body's resistance to some infectious diseases, prevents increased capillary fragility, as well as restores performance in mental and physical fatigue.
Used in medicine for the prevention and treatment of hypo- and avitaminosis, in the treatment of neuroses, asthenia, anemia, metabolic diseases, hypertension and atherosclerosis, diseases of the liver and biliary tract, lungs, eyes, wounds, bone fractures, pulmonary tuberculosis, hemorrhagic diathesis, general weakening of the body, children's and other diseases.
Cinnamon rosehip is included in the anti-asthmatic mixture Traskov, vitamin collections and others.
Rosehip oil is prepared from the seeds and caro-tolin from the fruit, used for ulcerative colitis, proctosigmoiditis, hemorrhoids, peptic ulcer disease, wounds, ulcers, sores, burns and dermatoses. The fruit is used to make juice, extracts, syrups, dragees, tablets, and candies.
In folk medicine preparations of rose hips, in addition, used for kidney disease, cystitis, kidney stones, urinary and gall bladder, bleeding gums, colds, insomnia, headache, dropsy, diarrhea, worms, anacid gastritis, peptic ulcer, other diseases. The peels and grains are loosening and a good diuretic. Decoction of flowers is used for eye baths for conjunctivitis, blepharitis and barley. In Bulgaria they use ointment from stem ash for psoriasis (P. Churolinov). Petals of rosehip flowers, boiled with honey, used in rusty inflammation, and decoction of the root in the form of foot and general baths for paralysis and myopathy. Infusion of a handful of rosehip flowers in 0.5 liters of boiling water tones and refreshes any skin well.
From the petals and pulp of the fruit in the household prepare jam, kvass, cold jam (1 part of the fruit pour 2 parts of sugar, tightly packed, close, pour sealing wax and put in a cold place).
Methods of application:
1. 20 g crushed fruits (4 tsp. spoonfuls) boiled in 0.2-0.5 liters of water for 10 minutes in an enameled closed bowl, insist 24 hours, strain, squeeze, add sugar or honey - drink 1/2-1 cup 2-3 times a day before meals (children - 1/4 - 1/2 cup per reception) for hypoavitaminosis, liver disease.
2. 20 g rose hips insist 10 hours in 0.5 liters of boiling water (in a thermos) - take a day in 3 receptions for 20-40 minutes before meals as number 1.
3. Syrup - 1-3 tsp. each. spoonfuls a day.
4. Holosas - 1-3 tsp. spoonfuls, children 1/2-1/3 tsp. spoonfuls 3 times a day for 3 weeks, break 3-6 months, then repeat for liver and biliary tract diseases.
5. 2 Art. spoonfuls of rosehip root boil 15 minutes in 350 ml of water, infuse - take 250 ml 3 times a day for 7 days and more with urolithiasis (M. А. Nosal).
6. Rosehip fruit powder - 1 tbsp. each. spoonful after meals for prolapse of the rectum (D. Pamukov).
7. 1 Art. a spoonful of leaves to infuse in 250 ml of boiling water for 10 minutes - daily dose for gastric atony, flatulence and diarrhea (V. П. Mahlayuk).

9. Rosehip oil or carotolin - 50 ml in a microclism at night for 10-15 days for ulcerative colitis.

13. Rosehip fruit, St. John's wort herb - 5 parts each, flowers of cumin - 6 parts, hoof leaves, mint and yarrow herb - 3 parts each, flax seed and grass shepherd's purse - 2 parts each, mix; 2-3 tbsp. spoonfuls of the mixture to insist 10 hours in 0.5 liters of boiling water (in a thermos) - daily dose for liver disease, biliary tract and chronic pancreatitis (sb. 12, 13 Е. А. Ladynina).
Rosehip preparations are contraindicated in thrombophlebitis, endocarditis, circulatory insufficiency and hyperacid gastritis.
Corse Sorrel (Rumex confertus Willd).

Horse stubble is used in folk medicine for atherosclerosis, diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, liver and biliary tract, prostate, cystitis, arthritis, ulcerative colitis, dysentery, various bleeding, pulmonary tuberculosis, hemorrhoids, scurvy, anemia, dropsy and externally - for wounds, ulcers, burns, psoriasis, eczema, scabies, stomatitis, gingivitis, colpitis and bleeding. Crushed fresh leaves are applied to boils, wounds and ulcers.
Prof. А. Ф. Smyshlyaeva noted a good effect of treatment with 1% decoction of seeds of dyspepsia, diarrhea and other intestinal infections in children aged 6 months at a dose of 200-300 ml per day. Н. И. Solomchenko for many years notes the good effect of 5% decoction of seeds in children's diarrhea and gallbladder disease.

1. Sorrel root powder - 0.25 g 3 times a day as an astringent, 0.5-1 g per reception as a laxative.

3. 30 g roots or grass sorrel boiled 1 h in 1.5 liters of water - 1/3 cup 3 times a day (for liver disease, enterocolitis and as a blood purifier).
4. 20% tincture of sorrel root in 40% alcohol - 5-10 ml 3 times a day for hypertension (N. И. Solomchenko).

6. Water sorrel juice - 30-90 ml along with other juices as a blood cleanser.
7. 20-30% decoction of sorrel root for lotions, baths for skin diseases, especially accompanied by itching, decoction of 1 tbsp. spoonfuls of it in 1 liter of water - for spritzing and micro enemas.
8. 20% ointment of sorrel root powder or together with elecampane (1 tbsp. each. spoonful to 1 cup of butter) for eczema.
