The researcher and popularizer of celandine was the phytotherapist Prof. M.A. K. Kulikova. С. А. Tomilin, who considers it appropriate to use it in internal diseases (angina pectoris, bronchial asthma, hepatitis, cholecystitis, cholelithiasis, gallstone disease, polyarthritis), as well as in persistent cases of eczema and other chronic skin diseases. He recommended celandine to postoperative patients for the prevention of metastasis and for pre-tumor diseases.

М. А. Nosal and others recommend for the treatment of inoperable cancer infusion of 20 g of celandine herb in 0.5 liters of boiling water - 1/3 cup 3 times a day. This same infusion, in the same dose, but 2-3 days a month, the authors recommend for cancer prevention. Of course, treatment for these patients should only be prescribed by a doctor.

Solomchenko in 1975-1976. in the clinic of hospital therapy of Donetsk Medical Institute under the guidance of Professors O. А. Pyatak and V. В. Sinyachenko studied the effectiveness of galenic preparations of celandine in patients with gastric and duodenal ulcer - 56 patients used juice of herb preserved with alcohol (1 : 1) and 44 patients - 5% decoction of dry celandine herb. In 54% of patients a good treatment effect (clinical and radiologic remission) was obtained. As a rule, the patients tolerated the drugs well, only heartburn was observed in 7 patients (antacids were prescribed to the patients). The best treatment effect was noted after treatment with celandine juice. In 16 patients the distant results of treatment in 2 years were traced - clinical remission in 14 patients and exacerbation of the disease in 2 patients.

П. И. Podshivalov (g. Bobruisk) reported on the treatment of patients with bronchial asthma with difficult to separate sputum 10% tincture of celandine herb on strong brandy - 15 ml three times a day in 100 ml of water. In the surgical clinic of Kuibyshev Medical Institute Prof. A. М. Aminev previously for many years used in the treatment of polyposis of the large intestine infusion of raw celandine herb in enemas, and less often used it in polyps of the stomach and bladder. In gastric polyposis was prescribed 20-30 g of crushed raw celandine herb per reception. This treatment has not been done recently.

The effective use of celandine for laryngeal papillomatosis in children is indicated by L. В. Zemskov and A. А. Smutnev (when applied externally and internally in combination with surgical treatment).

Physician W. И. Filipchin (Minsk) reports on the treatment of psoriasis patients with hot baths of celandine decoction.
