Broadleaf kermek (Limonium (Statice) latifolia Sm.)



Kermek broadleaf is a perennial in the mumps family with a thick, straight, dark brown root. Kermek broadleaf - blooms in July through September. Kermek flowers are used for winter bouquets. It grows everywhere on virgin lands, forest edges, on dry and stony slopes. In the Azov region on estuaries, saline soils Meyer's cermek (meadow cermek), used also for medicinal purposes and as a tanning agent.

Kermek roots of both species contain many tannins, including gallic and ellagic acid, phytoncides and coloring agents.

Kermek has strong astringent, anti-inflammatory, styptic and wound healing properties. Therefore, it is widely used in folk medicine for acute and chronic gastrointestinal diseases accompanied by diarrhea, as well as hyperacid gastritis, peptic ulcer, gastric prolapse, dysentery, various bleeding and female diseases.

В. И. Kizimov reported that in the Luhansk region Kermek broadleaf is successfully used for diarrhea in calves.

In the efficacy of kermek N. И. Solomchenko was convinced by many years of observation, especially during the Great Patriotic War. He believes that broad-leaved kermek can be used instead of lapchatka and serpentine, which do not grow here.

Methods of administration:


1. Decoction of kermek root 10-20% - 1/3-1/2 cup 3 times a day as an astringent and styptic.


2. 20% tincture of kermek root on 40% alcohol - 5-15 ml 3 times a day for hyperacid gastritis, peptic ulcer, diarrhea.


3. Kermek root powder - 1-2 g per intake for enterocolitis.


4. Tincture of kermek root and St. John's wort herb - 100 g of each in 1.5 liters of 40% alcohol - 1-2 tbsp. spoonfuls 3 times a day for 2 months for gastric and duodenal ulcer (N. И. Solomchenko).



Externally, kermek preparations are used for baths for eczema, for washing wounds,

bedsores and for spritzing in gynecological diseases. Alcohol tincture lubricate the gums with their loosening and bleeding.

Lomon's Kirkasone (Aristolochia clematitis L.)



Common Kirkazone, Ukr.: filonnik, hvilivnik. The plant is poisonous, prescribed by a doctor.

Kirkazone lomonosiformis is a perennial from the Kirkazone family, 30-70 cm tall. Leaves are heart-shaped, regular, with an unpleasant odor. Kirkazone lomonosoides has yellow, tubular flowers with a swelling at the base, small, sit in bunches in the axils of the leaves. The fruit is a pear-shaped or round hanging shiny boll with flattened seeds. It blooms in May through June. yellow, tubular - grows everywhere as a weed along the banks of rivers, streams, bushes, ravines, in forests and vegetable gardens).

Kirkazone herb is used for medicinal purposes, less often - roots, fruits and seeds. They contain alkaloids (arystschloquine, et al.), aristolochic acid, essential oil, resins, vitamin C, carotene, saponins, flavonoids, organic acids, tannins and bitter substances.

Decoction of the herb Kirkazone has a destructive effect on Staphylococcus aureus, protozoa and fungi (V. Petkov, N, G. Kovaleva et al.).

Kirkazone is believed to increase the body's resistance and promote adaptation under unfavorable environmental conditions (L. Л. Sklarevsky and I. А. Gubanov).

It is used only in folk medicine internally - for shortness of breath, cardiac weakness, edema, dropsy, hypertension (initial stage), colds, flu, bronchitis, pulmonary tuberculosis, stomach and intestinal atony, poor digestion, general exhaustion, anemia, gout and joint diseases, hyperexcitability, epilepsy, scurvy, phlebitis, thrombophlebitis, dilated veins, hemorrhoids and menstrual disorders.

In Romania with rheumatism, anemia and amenorrhea used decoction of 20 g of the root of Kirkazone in 1 liter of water - 2-3 cups a day.

In Lviv region in painful forms of chronic pancreatitis use decoction of herb kirkazon.

More common external application of kirkazone - decoction of herb kirkazone in the form of baths, washes, compresses and lotions for allergies, itchy skin, its inflammation, various rashes, scrofula, festering wounds and ulcers, fistulas, abscesses, boils, paronychia, shin ulcers, eczema, psoriasis, osteomyelitis and abrasions of the legs. Н. И. Solomchenko was convinced by personal experience in the effectiveness of kirkazone in eczema.

Kirkazone manchurian in experiments in the form of decoction of the herb has an effect on the heart different from that of foxglove preparations (N. К. Fruentes).

Methods of application:


1.1 ч. spoonful of herb or root kirkazonon insist in 250 ml of boiling water or cold water for 8 hours, take during the day for dropsy, gout, arthrosis, bronchitis, cramps (D. Yordanov).


2. 1/2-1 ч. spoonful of herb Kirkazon insist 7 days in 100 g of 40% alcohol - 20-30 drops 3-4 times a day as No. 1 (V. И. Zav-razhnov).


3. 1 Art. spoon of herb Kirkazon boiled for 10 minutes in 1 liter of water in an enamel bowl - 50-100 ml 3 times a day before meals for a week for chronic pancreatitis.


4. 50-100 g of herb kirkazon boiled for 30 minutes in 1-2 liters of water - for external use. For itchy rashes apply hot baths for several days in the same decoction, warming it up each time.


5. Grass Kirkazone, ruta and peony root - 50 g, mint leaf, melissa, trifolium, St. John's wort herb, goldenseal, valerian root and hop cones - 30 g each; mix, 2 tbsp. spoonfuls of the mixture boiled for 10 minutes in 0.5 liters of water - 100 ml before meals in 3 hours for epilepsy (D. Pamukov).



The plant is contraindicated in pregnancy. The use of kirkazone requires great caution, for in case of overdose, poisoning is possible (causes hemorrhagic nephritis and gastro-enteritis, uterine bleeding)..
