Gallstone disease - symptomatology and treatment methods of modern phytotherapists

Gallstone disease is a common disease, affecting more women and older people. The etiologic factors of this disease are quite diverse: hereditary, constitutional, alimentary, sedentary lifestyle, various infections, etc. д. There are many theories about the development of this disease, the main ones are as follows: infectious theory (epithelium of the gallbladder mucous membrane, microbes and other elements can serve as a "nucleus" for stone formation); metabolic theory, according to which it is believed that the stone is formed due to the violation of bile composition, its consistency, the ratio between bile acids and cholesterol; the main importance is given to the liver, with the active participation of which there is a violation of general metabolic processes in the body, hypercholesterolemia, stagnation of bile and cholesterol in the gallbladder.

Gallstone disease is accompanied by acute attacks of pain in the right subcostal region - hepatic colic, pain in the pancreas and throughout the abdomen, accompanied by nausea, sometimes vomiting, a feeling of heaviness in the liver, constipation, abdominal bloating, fever, sometimes delayed urination, bradycardia and pain in the heart reflex character. Urine becomes dark in color, feces discolored, sometimes there is icteric skin and sclerae.

Seizures can be frequent, they can also be very infrequent. Ends attacks of hepatic colic or stone exit into the intestine, and then they can be found in the fecal matter, or biliary colic is complicated by blockage of the neck of the gallbladder or vesicular duct with subsequent gallbladder dropsy or blockage of the common bile duct with subsequent mechanical jaundice, liver enlargement and angiocholitis with undulatory fever and severe general condition. In such cases, the stone can pass into the duodenum or advance into the intestine through the formed fistula, which leads to infection of the biliary apparatus and makes possible the formation of purulent process in the liver and the occurrence of sepsis.

Prevention of cholelithiasis includes measures aimed at preventing bile stasis, metabolic disorders, gastrointestinal diseases, especially constipation and infectious foci. All this is done by regulating the lifestyle of patients, the use of therapeutic gymnastics, sufficient movement in the fresh air, because physical work affects the process of bile secretion, and the increase in oxygen delivery improves blood supply to the liver. Prevention of cholelithiasis also consists in regulating the diet (frequent meals in small portions), as food intake affects the process of bile secretion, food stimuli act on the mechanism that carries out emptying of the gallbladder, and on liver cells, mobilizing bile and stimulating its formation.

Treatment of cholelithiasis is conservative, and in case of complications and ineffectiveness of conservative - surgical.

Conservative treatment includes measures aimed at facilitating bile evacuation and regulation of bile formation.

The diet should include restriction of cholesterol-containing foods, animal refractory fats and proteins, flour dishes and foods rich in extractives. Eating at least 4-5 meals a day. Food should be rich in a variety of vitamins and especially ascorbic acid, which provides the physiological state of the liver, its most important functions in metabolism. In addition, the prescription of antispasmodic and painkillers is necessary.

Phytotherapy for liver disease meets all the requirements of modern medicine. Infusions of biliary stone disease from medicinal plants primarily affect the general metabolism and nervous system; metabolic processes in the body become more intense, and neurasthenic syndrome and symptoms of increased function of the autonomic department of the nervous system, on the contrary, decreased. Under the influence of infusions increases and metabolic function of the liver - improves the composition of bile, reduces the concentration of bilirubin and cholesterol in it, normalizes the ratio of the latter with bile acids, thanks to which bile in the intestine promotes digestion of fat, activates pancreatic lipase. Infusions from gallstone disease have a favorable effect on the activity of the gastrointestinal tract, contributing to its better emptying and the release of stercobilin.

Due to the presence of a complex of vitamins in medicinal plants infusions from gallstone disease have a significant effect on the vitamin function of the liver, on K-vitamin metabolism, quantitative fluctuation of mineral salts in the blood and on water-salt metabolism.

Medicinal plants of anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic and antibacterial action help to eliminate the infectious onset and inflammatory process.

Plants choleretic action improves the biliary function of the liver, increase the excretory function of the gallbladder and bile ducts. All this complex in addition to the liquid form of the therapeutic drug eliminates bile stagnation in the gallbladder. Thus, phytotherapy for liver disease serves as a pathogenetic method.

We used the following herbal ingredients to prepare a medicinal infusion for liver and gallbladder diseases.

Medicinal Collection No. 9

Calendula medicinal, above ground part 10 g

Gardener's dill, seeds 10 g

White birch, leaves 10 g

Forest wheatgrass, herb 10 g

Common juniper, fruit 10 g

Chamomile apothecary, flowers 20 g

Forest strawberry, fruits 20 g

White rose, petals 20 g

Field horsetail, shoots 30 g

Corn stigmas 30 g

Cinnamon hip, fruit (crushed) 30 g

Dandelion, root 30 g

Sandwort, flowers 40 g

Infusions for gallstone disease are prepared as follows: 5-6 g of the mixture brewed 500 ml of boiling water, stew and take 150 ml 3 times a day for 10-15 minutes before meals. The taste of the infusion is bitter, the smell is pleasant.

During attacks of hepatic colic - the infusion is taken hot and add mint up to 10 g. If you are inclined to edema, the amount of boiling water can be reduced to 250 ml. In the morning 15 minutes before taking the infusion is useful to take grated carrots with a small amount of sour cream or steamed pumpkin with honey.

Phytotherapy for diseases of the liver and biliary tract is recommended by us, taking into account the state of the gastrointestinal tract of the patient: if there is a tendency to constipation, then to the above mixture should be added rhubarb root or alexandria leaf, or bark cruschina in the optimal-minimal dose. If there is a tendency to diarrhea, then the collection should be supplemented with oak bark, St. John's wort herb and blueberry fruit.

In some cases to the above collection we add corn stigmas (30-40 g), which help to increase the secretion of bile, reduce its viscosity, specific gravity and bilirubin content in the blood.

We will allow ourselves to remind once again that in the treatment of liver diseases it is especially important to pay attention to the state of the intestine - the better its emptying, the more stercobilin is excreted with feces. However, this does not mean that it is necessary to constantly use laxatives in large doses in order to cleanse the intestines, as they can cause irritation of the mucous membrane of the gastrointestinal tract and a very severe picture of colitis.

At the same time it is impossible to prescribe and choleretic agents of strong action, which, increasing bile secretion, can cause hyperfunction, depletion of liver cells. Therefore, we do not recommend the use of infusions from gallstone disease without the appointment and supervision of a doctor who knows their effect on the human body.

Summarizing, it should be noted that under the influence of phytotherapy in patients with acute cholecystitis exacerbation of the process was not observed. Acute cholecystitis was rarely encountered in our practice, for such patients were treated with the usual remedies. Phytotherapy for liver diseases was more often used in cases when no other methods of treatment had no effect.

In patients with chronic cholecystitis and especially gallstone disease in the first period of treatment with infusions came quite a strong exacerbation, which was expressed in increased pain in the liver and intestines, some patients had dysuria. In 10-12 days all these phenomena subsided, the pain became less acute, attacks much shorter, improved bowel activity, normalized stool, improved the general condition of patients.

When treating such patients in clinical conditions, it was noticed that after taking the infusion, the patients appeared sleepy.

In the course of treatment, exacerbation of the disease occurred 2-3 times, but subsequent exacerbations after the first one were much shorter and less acute.

In periods of exacerbations and in the first 2-3 months of treatment, and in some patients for 6 months periodically in the sifted feces was found a large amount of coarse sand, small stones of various shapes and sizes. Sand was also detected in the urine after its daily sedimentation. The enlarged liver usually shrank by the end of the first month of phytotherapy, but the bitterness in the mouth remained for a long time, sometimes until the end of the course of treatment. Then it stopped.

As the patient's general condition improved, bilirubin and cholesterol in the blood decreased, and the disturbed secretion of gastric contents normalized.

In conclusion, I would like to tell women suffering from trichomonad colpitis, that a set of medicinal plants (medicinal collection № 10) has an extremely effective effect in this unpleasant disease. It contains the following ingredients.

Medicinal Collection No. 10

Lavender spike, above ground part 10 g

Cherry, flowers 10 g

Blackthorn, above ground part 10 g

Calendula medicinalis, above ground part 20 g

Oak, bark 20 g

Marsh wheatgrass, herb 20 g

White birch, leaves 20 g

Medicinal sage, above ground part 20 g

Camomile apothecary, baskets 30 g

15 g finely chopped mixture of plants brew 1 liter of boiling water, stew for 2-3 hours. Strain through gauze. Syringe the vagina 2 times a week before going to bed with a warm solution.

Finishing the third part of the book, where we share with the readers our experience in the treatment of certain diseases with medicinal plants and observations on patients, I would like to say the following: some scientists may put us on the view that we are somewhat out of the framework of a specialist narrow profile. But we present our family's century-long experience with positive results.

Each doctor, having chosen a particular specialty, can widely apply phytotherapy and improve it. We just want to reiterate that phytotherapy is a generalist therapy and can be successfully used in any branch of medicine..
