We need them to live. Let's see what that means.
The adrenal glands are an internal secretion gland, a paired organ located above both kidneys in the form of small pyramids. They represent one part of the body's endocrine system. Let's list all the other parts of this system and see how they are related to each other.
:Fig1:
Here is a schematic representation of the whole chain of endocrine glands. As you can see from the schematic, the hypothalamus is in charge. It is located in the area of the medulla oblongata (subcortical area of the brain). This area of the medulla oblongata, located below the thalamus (visual area), produces so-called tropic hormones, which stimulate the production of hormones with specific action on the underlying specialized glands. Tropic hormones, as they are produced in the hypothalamus, flow into the pituitary gland, which stores and releases them in small portions as the body needs this or that hormone into the bloodstream. Tropic hormone, getting in small amounts into the bloodstream, stimulates the release of a particular gland special hormone that supports one or another physiological function of the body. There is somatotropic hormone or growth hormone. Its "target" is the pancreas. Thyroid hormone stimulates the release of thyroxine by the thyroid (thyroid) gland. Adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) stimulates the adrenal glands to produce adrenaline and corticosteroids. Gonadotropic, luteotropic and lactotropic hormones are responsible for the growth and development of the sex glands in men and women, pregnancy and lactation. In addition to these relatively large glands of internal secretion there is the epiphysis (a small, pineal gland, the size of a pea), perithyroid glands, which are responsible for calcium metabolism, glands in the mucosa of the stomach and small intestine. There are also glands in the brain tissue that have the same function - they produce endorphins, or endogenous morphines. When their concentration in the blood increases, we fall asleep or, on the contrary, come to a state of increased vigor. In addition to all this, the kidneys also have endocrine activity and under certain conditions release into the blood hormone renin, which narrows blood vessels and increases blood pressure.
Let's focus on the work of the adrenal glands: they consist of two heterogeneous tissues - the inner, so-called brain layer releases into the blood adrenaline - a hormone that increases blood pressure, maintaining normal blood vessel tone, muscle tone, emotional and physical activity.
The outer layer of the adrenal glands, the cortical layer, produces corticosteroids, which are extremely important for the vital functions of the body. Corticosteroids are responsible for tissue metabolism, tissue synthesis, i.e. they ensure the smooth operation of the liver, bone marrow and other tissues for the synthesis of proteins, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins, hormones and all substances necessary for our body, building our tissues. Corticosteroids are responsible for the synthesis of blood cells, hemoglobin, tissue immune cells - phages, histiocytes, lymphocytes, lymphocytes, i.e. the strength and health of our immune system, our immune defense against any viruses, microbes, protozoa and even parasites depend on their level and concentration in the blood. In other words, their activity determines our resistance to infections, viral flu, SARS, AIDS, finally.
It should be said that by chemical structure and composition corticosteroids are similar to male and female sex hormones and when the functions of sex glands cease in the menopausal period, they partially compensate for these functions, maintaining in the body the appropriate emotional, physical and intellectual background.
It is clear that the adrenal glands are an indispensable organ for us and the hormones they secrete (i.e. the secret of the gland secreted not into the organ cavity but directly into the blood) are vital to the body. What happens when the adrenal glands get sick? It should be said that they are very rarely sick - the most important organ for life is well protected. There are mainly two known painful conditions - Icenck-Cushing's disease, or bronze disease. It is associated with a sharp decline in adrenal function, resulting in a sharp drop in blood pressure, muscle weakness, the skin takes on a bronze hue (pigment metabolism is disturbed). The cause is most often adrenal tuberculosis. Another pathology of the adrenal glands is called "pheochromocytoma" - a tumor of the adrenal gland. Blood pressure rises sharply and persistently, the general condition is severe. Treatment is removal of the tumor. In both cases, the pathology of the adrenal glands, although rare, but always difficult to treat and if cured, then only by cleansing the tissues and their full nutrition.
But it is quite another matter when adrenal pathology is caused artificially. And this is done in modern medicine very often, since hormone therapy has entered medicine as a full-fledged method of treatment. Let us say at once that this method cripples the body, actually depriving it of adrenal glands and making it extremely vulnerable to any virus and microbe. In other words, hormone therapy with corticosteroids - prednisolone, dexamestazone and other derivatives of prednisolone deprives the body of the immune system, and with systematic use leads to conditions of acquired immunodeficiency. Where did it all start? It began in the 30s of the last century, when the Canadian physician-scientist Hans Sellier isolated an extract from the adrenal glands of cattle, purified it with a series of adsorbents and used it in the treatment of patients with acute inflammatory processes. Inflammation immediately subsided, the patients recovered surprisingly quickly, this inspired Sellier to further research, which began the era of hormonal therapy ... Extracts from the adrenal glands of animals were isolated, purified, concentrated, modified - it was prednisolone, which began to be used in pneumonia, acute joint rheumatism, thyroiditis, psoriasis. Inflammation subsided, the symptoms of the disease disappeared for a while, then resumed in a worse form and required new, even larger doses of hormones.
Patients received the drugs in increasing quantities and could not do without them. Then they began to synthesize dexamethasone - a hormone - an analog of the natural one. The effect of its use was the same: patients who received hormones systematically, became susceptible to infections and often died from any virus affecting the respiratory tract. Why did this happen? The entire system of glands of internal secretion in the body has perfect self-regulation, thanks to the information transmitted by the hormones themselves. When the concentration of any hormone in the blood rises, the hypothalamus stops synthesizing the corresponding hormone, in this case ACTH. The adrenal glands stop synthesizing corticosteroids. With systematic intake of hormones orally, as well as in the form of injections, ointments or aerosols, the adrenal glands atrophy, which happens quite quickly (sometimes two to three months is enough). The patient becomes dependent on taking hormonal drugs. This disrupts the function of all the glands of internal secretion, there are disorders of tissue metabolism, in particular, obesity, sometimes - diabetes or acromegaly (growth of bones of the facial skull and limbs), hairification of the skin in women. And all this does not stop the victorious march of corticosteroids around the world. All new synthetic analogs of hormones are created, all new pharmaceutical forms in the form of ointments, gels, injections, which are used in almost all diseases: pneumonia, bronchial asthma, neurodermatitis, psoriasis, rheumatism, disseminated lupus, mononucleosis, all diseases of the hematopoietic system, connective tissue diseases, thyroiditis, polyarthritis, generally all acute inflammatory processes. They are used because corticosteroids have the ability to suppress excessive tissue reactions that occur in any inflammatory process - exudation (edema), proliferation - cell growth, etc. This is due to their ability to inhibit protein biosynthesis. Thus, the symptoms of inflammation are relieved, but the very cause of inflammation, edema, bronchial or vascular spasm remains. Wouldn't it be easier to find out and eliminate this cause than to do violence to tissues, disrupting the natural course of tissue processes? It must be assumed that the inflammatory process did not arise without reason, and came as a response of this organ to something that prevents the body to exist normally. Detect and remove this interference is much easier and, most importantly, harmless to the body than trying to forcefully suppress the natural course of tissue reactions. And the only cause of inflammatory or even tumor reaction of nearby tissues is the accumulation of pus, i.e. dead cells not removed in time by the lymph flow through the large intestine. The cause of inflammatory reaction, especially in the joints, brain membranes, sometimes subcutaneous tissue, may also be retained in the tissues residual products of nitrogen metabolism - urea, uric acid, creatine, ammonia and others. Any inflammation - sore throat, maxillary sinusitis, bronchitis, arachnoiditis, arthritis - is eliminated by removing from the tissues accumulated waste products. This is done by methods of general cleansing of the body and local cleansing of the sinuses, liver, intestines, repeatedly described in the chapters on the treatment of various diseases by natural methods. In one case, the cleansing process with full recovery without the use of drugs can last 4-5 days: sore throat, acute respiratory infection, flu, in others - 2-3 months: polyps, asthma, polyarthritis, arachnoiditis, migraine, conjunctivitis, thyroiditis. But the result is always the same - recovery.
What do we achieve by cleansing the body and the subsequent restoration of tissues with biologically complete food? We eliminate the cause of the disease and save the adrenal glands. They will still need a person, and especially a child. After all, it is hormonal therapy of various diseases coupled with antibiotics caused the destruction of immunity in people in three to four generations, which caused the emergence of immunodeficiency states: AIDS, SARS, hemorrhagic fevers, etc. Therefore, I would like to warn parents of children suffering from bronchial asthma or skin diathesis, psoriasis once again - do not use hormones in the treatment of children neither in the form of pills, nor in the form of ointments or aerosols, because they are bound to cause a violation of the immune system of the child. The use of these drugs suppresses cellular synthesis of protein, the individual protein of the body, that is, the body becomes defenseless against microbes and viruses, and any disease will require drug treatment. Parents, be reasonable and in case of illness cleanse the child's body by drinking herbal concoctions with honey and juices of lemon, grapefruit, pomegranate, kalina, etc. Do not feed the child solid food for 4-7-10 days, give plenty of hot water (decoctions of medicinal herbs) and fresh fruit and vegetable juices. Simultaneously flush the intestines with cleansing enemas - daily for 7-10 days. You will cure the disease - colds, flu, sore throat, diarrhea without complications and without transition to a chronic state or another disease. In this sense, the following case is very indicative: a girl of five years old was brought to a naturopathic doctor. She had been suffering from a severe form of bronchial asthma for three years. Since two months she had a skin diathesis in a wet form, was treated with drugs, by the age of two years diathesis passed, but bronchial asthma began: attacks of suffocation occurred almost daily, lay long in the hospital, a year 2-3 times. Drug-induced hepatitis, headaches started. I was treated by a neurologist. Headaches continued, choking attacks also. Parents turned to natural medicine and persistently treated the girl for two years, carrying out without violations the entire program of natural treatment. As a result, the girl is healthy, plays with her peers, rides a bicycle, perfectly tolerates physical activity, goes to school. Hormones, bronchodilators and inhalers were abandoned two weeks after the start of treatment. Why not make efforts to save the child's health and life instead of declaring asthma incurable and tying the child and then the adult to medications, multiplying the number of disabled people?
The question arises: is it possible to get rid of hormonal dependence, if the patient has already acquired it and takes prednisolone regularly? It is possible, but difficult. The most undesirable circumstance in all this "hormonal history" is the following - the treatment of the disease, which a person tries to cure with the help of hormones, is sharply complicated, because the metabolic disorder of the whole organism is increasing. It is easiest to cure and get rid of hormones in children. Hormonal inhalers and pills become unnecessary for them after 7-10 days from the beginning of cleansing the body, because children have less mass of tissues and contaminating cells of slags. And so do not despair, if your child is already taking hormones, try to gradually get rid of them, cleansing the tissues, and your efforts will succeed.
